President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted positive dynamics in Kazakhstan-Russia relations during his meeting with counterpart Vladimir Putin in the capital of Tatarstan. The Head of State arrived in Kazan to take part in the opening ceremony of the international tournament ‘Games of the Future’. He also acknowledged the significant achievements of the Russian economy despite the challenging circumstances.

“Of course, this has had a positive effect on our cooperation and on the implementation of the agreements reached during your state visit to Kazakhstan last November. In my view, both governments are successfully working towards implementing these agreements, and we are already seeing tangible results,” Tokayev said.

On his part, Vladimir Putin confirmed Russia’s commitment to further strengthening the strategic partnership with Kazakhstan. Additionally, the leaders of the two states exchanged views on regional and global agendas. Meanwhile, Director General of Tatneft Nail Maganov briefed President Tokayev on the prospects for implementing joint initiatives, including a strategic investment project in the petrochemical industry to be launched in the Atyrau region.
