President Tokayev instructs to increase investment inflow into Kazakhstan

At an extended government meeting, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to increase the investment inflow into the country’s economy and launch a new investment cycle involving all state bodies. In order to attract more capital into the country it is needed to form a comprehensive ecosystem. This responsibility was entrusted to the investment headquarters, which should also fulfill a number of other important tasks, including activating the work of development institutions, establishing clear interaction between foreign agencies, central government agencies and regions, as well as building an effective dialogue with the business community. Therewith, President Tokayev reminded that the return of illegally acquired assets is one of the particularly significant sources of investment. Independent economic experts are already sharing their opinions on Kazakh President’s statements. They are expressing confidence that the government, led by the new Prime Minister, will successfully handle this task, ensuring necessary indicators for the country’s economy and overall improvement of people’s well-being.

“Work in this direction is currently underway. Thus, a new Prime Minister has been appointed. He has considerable experience in law enforcement agencies, particularly on asset recovery, which will positively influence the government’s work. It is necessary to intensify efforts to return all our assets to Kazakhstan. With these funds, we can finance both breakthrough projects and support budget programs, such as building schools and hospitals in the country’s remote areas. In this regard, I fully support President Tokayev,” said Nurzhan Biyakayev, an independent expert economist.
