UNICEF calls for greater protection for children in Kazakhstan amid COVID-19 pandemic

The global COVID-19 crisis has led to the widespread closure of schools, disrupting the education of more than 1 billion children. The rise in domestic abuse amid lockdowns and closure of care institutions have hit the most vulnerable. 4.5 million children and adolescents in Kazakhstan have their normal routines disrupted by the closure of kindergartens, schools and universities. Lyazzat Shatayeva spoke to the representative of the UNICEF in  Kazakhstan Arthur van Diesen to understand how coronavirus crisis is affecting children in the country.
