Kazakhstan-Hungary: Trade and Economic Ties Strengthened Despite COVID-19 Crisis

Hungary expands investment interests in Eurasia. Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Szijjarto paid an official visit to Kazakhstan. In an exclusive interview to Lyazzat Shatayeva (тэг) for IMPACTFUL, he talked about the growing trade between two countries, cultural ties strengthened through the Turkic council and based on shared history, and stable diplomatic cooperation. The minister mentioned when air travel is expected to be restored between Kazakhstan and Hungary, and how Hungary seeks to simplify the EU visa regime for Kazakhstan citizens. Minister Sijjarto also shared Hungary’s experience of dealing with the consequences of the global pandemic and why vaccination is important for Hungary, the first European country to procure and use Russian and Chinese anti-Covid-19 vaccines.
